Five Hot Spots
- 5/8" plywood tongue and groove floor decking -
Our 5/8" Outdoor-Grade plywood floor decking is superior to all 'Chip Board' floors because it is stronger, and more resistant to water damage. We also use 2"x3" floor joists for a significant increase in structural integrity. The floors the 'foundation' of the RV. The walls sit on the floor and the walls support the weight of the roof and all of the cabinets. At Forest River, we feel the floor should be as strong as possible. - Aluminum-Framed, Vacuum-bond Sidewalls and Slide Out -
Sierra sidewalls and slide outs are built with the latest vacuum-bonding technology. We use a computer to take accurate temperature, and humidity readings, and calculate the amount of water-activated glue, as well as the water to put on the part to be glued for ideal adhesion. A bead of glue is laid down every 1/2" across the entire wall for complete adhesion through the entire wall. Also we vacuum-bond the slide walls and roof. The biggest moving part on the RV, is the slide out, so we build our slide out to be as stronger than the competition. - Dual Pane Windows(optional) -
Most of the higher priced RV's have dual pane windows as an option. Well, Sierra is priced in the middle of the road for the industry, and we have them available. Customers that camp during the spring and fall will already know the benefits of having these windows installed. For those customers that don't know the benefits, they are: 1. Better insulation - 2. Less build up of condensation - 3. Better resale value. Note: Due to the fact that these are an option for Sierra, an easy way to to tell if the Sierra you are selling has dual pane windows is that they will have black frames; the single pane windows frames are white. - Enclosed underbelly with ducted heat -
All Sierras have enclosed, insulated, and heated holding tanks. ALL of the tanks are this way, as well as all of the water lines. This is to protect them not only from the elements, but also from road debris while being towed. The only lines that are not heated are the dump valves, and how many people run around with their black and grey tanks full? Not too many. On the high profile models even these valves are enclosed as well. This is for the people who are going to stay camping for extended times in the winter months - 100% Water filtration system -
While most RV's these days feature a water filtration system, at Sierra we have stepped up the way we filter water. 100% of the water in Sierra RV's is filtered down to 1 micron. (One micron is the equivalent to a human hair cut in half three times.) Some manufacturers think that a little spout by the kitchen sink, or a filter just for the kitchen sink is all you need. But what about the shower? At Sierra believe that your shower water should be need. But what about the shower? At Sierra believe that your shower water should be as clean as your drinking water.
